Boiler Efficiency Determination Methods

Why determine boiler efficiency? Knowing how to adjust the efficiency of boilers is an important aspect in energy savings. The boiler is where the energy conversion from fuel to steam takes place. The steam is used for power production, for a process reaction, or for heating another fluid or gas, or simply for heating the air in a building. By boiler efficiency, we mean the efficiency of conversion from the chemical energy in the fuel to the heat energy in steam. This is shown as a percentage of the fuel energy, and in this article we show two basic, simple methods for boiler efficiency testing and boiler efficiency calculation.
